Default violent vibration

A few weeks ago I had a front brake line collapse on my '89 D100 4wd. The brakes wouldn't release and cooked the rotor. Since then the truck vibrates VIOLENTLY when applying the brakes. It's so bad the tires skip on the road. I suspected a warped rotor so I replaced it. No change. What should I look at next. I figured the rotor was the obvious problem.

i replaced the calipers and pads when I replaced the brake line. I replaced the rotor today so there was about 3 weeks between replacing the pads and calipers and changing the rotor. Should I replace the pads again? Would the warped rotor damage the pads in thet amount of time? i have driven maybe 50 miles on the new brakes and old rotor. I have not checked the back brakes.

Is this a D100 or a 4wd. Can't be both, it has to be a W100 4wd or a D100 2wd.

The new pads should be fine. I would have replaced both brake lines at the same time. If one collapsed the other is suspect. Did you check the bearings while it was apart? Did you do a complete 4 wheel bleed?

I would think you could tell if the vibration is in the front or rear.

well warped rotors could damage pads but you should be able to tell if they were damaged in that 50 miles by looking at them. if you have not checked the rear ones yet it might be a good idea. i know my ram charger shakes pretty bad when the park brake stick on just a bit.

must be W100. I don't know about the 4 wheel bleed or if the bearings were checked. I took it to the dealer to have the new rotor put on. They did say that one of the retainer nuts was broken? I cant tell if the vibration is in the front or back. There is a very slght shimmy in the steering wheel at about 45mph. I figured that was a balance issue.

None of this shaky busness happened until the brakes locked up on the rotor and turned it a pretty shade of red.

Did you change the hose and caliper without bleeding the brakes at all? Air in a caliper will cause this.

I bled the brakes when I changed the pads and calipers. Not all 4, just the one with the new caliper and line.

SEAL, I didnt know that. I have had air in brakes before but they just went to the floor without engaging. Never had it cause shaking like this. Thats something to check out for sure.
