I was refering to the button on the dash. I keep expensive gear in my trunk. I dont want someone to be able to open the trunk if i leave my doors unlocked or they break the window.Most cars either have a switch in the trunk or a key lock to disable opening of the trunk.
You have no reason for concern!
When car is off & alarm is set the trunk button is disabled.
Open your driver side window & set alarm. Wait few mins. & reach in & push button. Disabled!

PS. I see "Futil" posted same info. and he's 100% correct!
