Default I think I'm going to buy an Avenger R/T AWD...

I've been looking at it for a couple months, and I think I'm going to get an R/T AWD in Sunburst Orange basically fully loaded (Everything except the rear DVD player). I have test driven a couple, and like it a lot. A couple questoins though:

I know it has a voice activation feature for the Uconnect bluetooth and he nav on MyGig. How does this work?
Also does it work with any part of MyGig other then the nav? (i.e. playing songs off of the HDD)

A question about the transmission: Can you shift from 'D' into the "manual" mode while driving the car without harming the transmission? Seems pointless if you cannot.

And lastly the original pamphlet I got on the car mentions a rear sonar system "Parksense" that came with it. The more recent pamphlet does not. Not that I really need this feature (nor would I pay extra for it) I was just curious as to what the story on it is.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum
You will like the Avenger very much. I did notget the MyGig or the Nav. in my R/T, as I already have a Nav system with a 7" screen. I do like the Uconnect though and the Sat radio. As for the tranny shifting question ....yes you can. I had the dealer show me everything about the car and that is one step he showed me and it worked fine. So I would say no problem with shifting from D into performence shift mode. I do like the manumatic shifting mode. As for the rear sonar system, it does show it in the accessories section in the 2008 pamphlet. Let us know if you get one, and how you like it.

I've had my R/T for a few days now and as Regandon said, you can shift from D to the 6 speed on the fly... works great. I did get the MyGig/UConnect and the voice activation does allow you to drive all the functionality: Nav, Music and Phone quit nicely. BTW the Sunburst Orange should look awesome.

As regandon and Avenger_GA said, yes there will be no problems with shifting from D to the autostick mode. All that is happening is your under control of the software that chooses the gear ratios, it isn't like switching from 2 wheel-drive to 4 wheel-drive on older 4X4 systems.
