Default ANOTHER Door recall

I wish Dodge would take the time and sort more problems out before they sell these cars.
I just got another door recall. This one is for the door cables. (recall E33).
After just having the latches replaced https://dodgeforum.com/m_967465/mpag.../tm.htm#967465
I am getting tired of seeing the dealer! [:@]

I know what you're saying. Yes I know. Like how my car had hair mixed with the clearcoat and my roof molding is coming off and a few other things. Who in the heck is running the show? I just love when someone says about the some of the weather stripping popping up,etc. Makes it seem like it's cheap and it's embarrassing.

Recall "E33"?

I got my recall notice a few days ago,but it is recall "G33 - Front Door Latch Cables". It says that the previous recall "did not fully correct the front door latch system". My recall work was done before my car was delivered, and so I thought I had escaped having to go back to the dealer. But itgot me anyway.

But otherwise,my R/Thas been great. I've had it since around Memorial Day, and I haveabout 5K miles on it now. Initially I had a simple problem with a fuse not being plugged in all the way causing intermittent remote control problems, but the dealer fixed it in about 5 minutes and I haven't had any other functional problems since. Except for a clunking sort of a sound (from day one and yet to be investigated) coming from under the front passenger side floorboard, the car has been trouble-free in every other way. The paint isflawless,it runs great, and nothing fell off. Of course I probably just put the whammy on it by saying that .

Do the sign of the cross lol I've always have a habit of putting whammies on myself or others. I'm glad you're car has been great, Mine basically is great. But I just think that quality control became a little lazy on some cars.

There's no doubt in my mind the08 Avengers wereput togetherfast and dirty and made as inexpensively as possible which is a shame cause they are great cars otherwise..

What's the exact deal with the door latch cable recall? Does the cable pop off and the door flies open or does the cable fall of and the doors get stuck closed?

I alsowanted to mention a quick tip for the weather stripping around the inside door frame.. If you pull the weather stripping off then pinch the inside of the stripping that makes contact with the metal then go around the entire door framesqueezing the gap together, that will tighten them up and prevent them from falling.. They use a continuous rolled metal clip row encased in rubber which provides contact with the metal so squeezing them tightens the tolerances and enables them to grip. I had to do that when I removed my weather stripping when I installed my Amplifier cables causemy strippingwas loose from the factory as well. Im sure they just want to throw the weatherstripping on as fast as possibleat the factory and don't try to make them tight..No problems with them now..

Ikeep a string of garlic and some wolfs bane hanging from the rear view mirror. I guessI'll have to remember to startrepeatingthe phrase "The power of Christ compels you" every once in a while. :-)

It sounds like both:

The recall notice says "The front door latch cables on your vehicle may become unseated from their interior release handle housing during certain operatin conditions. This can cause the door latch to stick in the unlatched position or allow the lock function to become inoperative. Attempting to drive a vehicle with a door in the unlatched position can result in increased risk of injury to an unbelted front seat occupant."
