Very Disappointed in Chrysler/Dodge
This was the response that I got back from Chrysler customer service regarding the issue that I am having with my 2008 Avenger R/T due to the hard downshift/hesitation up to 30 mph. For those waiting on that magic update...don't count on it.
I love the part about purchasing a service manual.

why wouldn't you take it to the dealer if you are having problems? It's not like they can magically tell you whats wrong with your car through an email or phone call.
I've already taken it to the dealer 3 times regarding the same issue within the 2 months I've had the car.
That is why I contacted Chrysler/Dodge directly to see if they could provide me with any better info than what I was getting from the dealer. Which was pretty much nothing, and I ended up getting that anyway.

I was the one that made mention of the update, due to having the same problem. Here is proof of the dealership making notice that even they felt the harsh down shift. Even Chrysler telling them a fix is in the works. As of a week ago, a BATA version is in the testing mode.

I've had this type of issue with a different brand car and it was fixed with a transmission controller flash. I would bet that they already know about this issue and have yet released a software update for it. It's actually a pretty common issue, but OEM's should never release code that can't properly handle this to begin with!!
