Not a very good start
Ok so here is the update…
I made the swap and I am set back a few extra thousand bucks, because I mean really….who doesn’t have a few extra grand to toss around right?
My new Avenger has 150 miles on it and it is pretty sweet.
I take it for a nice gentle spin with the sales guy and it is running great.
We shake hands and I start home, I get about 5 miles away and my tire pressure indicator comes on and says my rear driver tire has low pressure, it says it has 27 pounds in it.
Now I see the rest of the tires and 2 of the other 3 also has 27 in them but they are not blinking and indicating that the pressure is to low, so what’s up with that?
I go back to the dealership and I can pretty much see the disbelief and anguish on their faces as I drive in.
The guy tells me that the weather can affect tire pressure, well no **** Einstein!
What my REAL question I kept asking was, if one tire blinks at 27 pounds indicating low pressure why aren’t the other 2 tires that are at 27 also blinking? His response, is total silence…I was like “dude, do you understand what I am saying” Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?
So we go back to the service area and put 32 pounds in each tire and he tells me that he is going to have to get after his techs because these tires don’t get 27 pounds they get 32. Are you freaking kidding me, these guys don’t know how to correctly fill a car tire?
So after we “correct” the tire issue I leave and everything seems to be up to par for now.
There are 2 scratches on the dash that are each about 5 inches long but in order to see them you need to have direct sunlight shine on them and the sales guy told me it is a factory defect. I was like “oh that’s cool, and if you talk to Chrysler again anytime soon please tell them to pass any other crap flaws through” I mean really, don’t they have a QC department? Wouldn’t someone say, “Hey Jed, doesn’t that dash look a bit messed up, maybe we should tell someone”
End of rant

^^^ I'll agree with the second statement. A lot of people just don't want to work like they should anymore, needless to say we have a lot of bright, shiny immigrants working to take the place of the people who won't work... and I bet they do such a GREAT job
. lol
But yea I had the same problem with my tire pressure indicator. Same with the tire pressure indicators that come in other people I know's cars. Almost every car I get in their tire pressure indicator is going off or it's always on, just like the "check engine" light in a lot of old vehicles, they stay on no matter what.
I don't know why they even bother throwing in a tire pressure indicator inside an avenger anyway, because to me, I don't think there's anything special about it that would make me like the car anymore, It's usually always innaccurate in every vehicle and a pain in the butt lol.
A lot of mornings when it is cold my tire pressure light comes on even tho it doesn't tell me which tire is low, or whatever, but as soon as I get them warmed up from driving a little bit, the light turns off.
It's ok I just wish it wasn't in my vehicle at all. IMHO

Well thank god someone else is having this problem, because I am ready to comit horrible acts of screaming customer.
My tire pressure indicators have given me grief since it got cold out.
Prior to Christmas my car went in - and their solution "fill the tires and reset the system."
The issue returned shortly there after, but between going back to the dealer and driving it on the holiday roads, I got a nice nail in the sidewall so I am actually on a new tire now. :/
None the less - I have video on my phone of the flashing warnings (I use metric) so at 179 KPA I had some blinking warnings, but not all. One tire was at 140KPA (the tire giving me issues - BEFORE the flat). I also have video that shows a tire at 172 and solid, and one at 182 and blinking. ****ing eh! So I told them when they were taking care of my tire replacement, to check the damn tire pressure system because I am sick of coming back. They replaced the sensor in my front passenger tire, even though my initial issues were with the rear tire.
I went to pick my car up, and I made it all the way around the dealership's back lot, to the front, where I pulled into their drive through bay, and had them correct the pressure.
They filled one tire to 237 KPA at -14C (driver front), passenger front and driver rear were at 207kpa, and the rear passenger was at 220KPA. Now while I can appreciate that the tire pressure is low while it is cold, and this wasnt a dangerously overfilled tire, but if I am not mistaken "cold pressure" in a tire is usually at an above 0C rating. The door panel indicates 220KPA as the cold fill temperature, so if they overfilled the tire - and now I am expected to take it on the road, where at highway speeds I have seen over 20KPA increases due to temperature from the road friction... Woo? Umm no!
The woman there asked me "so what do you want us to do then?"
I pulled the same dumbfounded opinion of the dealership that you seem to have with yours - saaaay what? I want you to ensure my tires are filled to the recomended pressure put there by the people who supposedly train you on how to service their cars!
Then she admited to me that she didnt know what KPA was, and she only understood PSI. Now forgive me for being ignorant here - but welcome to Canada. We use the metric system, I pulled out my blackberry and converted it for her. They adjusted the tire pressure in the car, and I was on my way.
Needless to say I am not pleased.
Oh can I add one unrelated thing? My heated mirror split when I pressed the defroster, you know the mirror required by law on the driver side? Yeah thats the one, Nice split down the middle. This happened in December. They ordered a replacement, tried to bill me for it, after an earfull, they just ordered it, and well I found out that they ordered the wrong one, they ordered a truck mirror, so some time next week I may get in my replacement... maybe.
On top of all of this - when I asked about the mirror, I was told it was in - and no one had called me. I asked how long - and they said 3 days. So I asked them why no one called - their response "we are to busy."
When I was speaking with someone yesterday about yet another issue (the fact that at 4024km, I am being informed that the vehicle wants an oil change), I asked them why I couldnt be called when the part came in, and he gave me the standard customer service spiel that they are working to improve etc etc, and while I appreciate that, I raised the question about a "safety feature that broke due to a manufacturing defect being treated as something that can wait till a parts person gets the chance to call me..."
He bit the bullet here, and he asked me a question about my license plate - which is THEG33K, because he thought he had an in to calm me down. He asked if I worked for "Geek Squad." I said actually no, I work in system integration. My specialty and what I do for a living is automate inventory control and inventory management systems to track parts and products required to complete jobs. In fact my job is to automate what you guys cant seem to do for me. *crickets*. I must admit it was funny to have such an opening thrust upon me, but I was angry. He then tried to use an example from a call he made to the Geek Squad where he had to wait on hold for 30 minutes, and was unable to get what he needed. So I did some quick math and responded very pointedly. The difference being that if you spent enough on the Geek Squad to cover 466.67 hours of service, I am certain you would be treated far better, with better response time.
*mutters* I am almost at the point where I expect to do what you have done - and explain to the GM how he owes me the value of my car. I love how the vehicle rides - when working - but not the quality of it.

Buy Honda? You do kow that Hondas have as much problems as Dodges do? But when it is Toyota or Honda it is made to sound like it never happens. As long as Dodge stands behind their car there shouldn't be a problem. I have owned 9 Dodges and 1 Chrysler in my days. The only cars to leave me stranded was my Mercury Cougar and my Subaru Justy. Why would you buy a rental car anyway? Those things get beat on to the extremes. I should knoiw. The guys I work with trash at least 1 rental on every trip we take. They throw it into reverse at highway speeds. Everywhere we go is at full throttle, we have evn gotten at least 3 feet of air under it doing jumps. So what do you think other people have done to the rental you decided to buy?
Wow, its to bad I never had the chance to buy a rental you had since you take such good care of things that do not belong to you.
Read the full post next time moron, it wasnt a rental.

Okay, my turn...
A little less than a month ago, I decide my wife and I will go test drive. I drove the new Malibu and it was okay. I then went to look at the Chargers. I new I couldn't afford one so I looked at the Avengers. It was Tuesday. Why does that matter? Cause the Dodge guys take rotating Tuesdays off with the Honda guys at the dealership.
So there we were, test driving with the Honda guy who knew nothing of Dodges. I came away believing the car we were lookign at had the U-connect and other features it did not. So, we buy the car. As we are leaving it is explained the tires are low and I should add air to turn of the sensor. Why I was supposed to do, I dunno but hey, my first new car. I'm excited. We get home and notice a large scratch in the driver side taillight that we only saw cause the lights were on. Next day, call the dealer - no problem,, come down and we will replace it. Keep in mind, I live 65 miles from the dealer.
Following week, we drive back down. In that week, we notice the driver side window hisses at 70mph and the driver side rear window will not roll down using the rear door switch. It of course worked when we got to the dealer. The dealer gives us a loaner and we go to lunch. 90 minutes later, we return. Dealer walks us to the car and explains one of the "lot guys" (the pimply kids who wash cars???) replaced the light with a light from a fleet car. I look closer - the "new" light has three scratches...and the lot guy scratched the bumper and the light was at least an 1/8 of inch diffferent on the bumper than the passenger side one. Needless to say, 1st new car and all, my face looked like a thermometer from a Bug-Bunny cartoon. Dealer says sorry and he will order asap and setup with the paint guys. I talk to him two days later and he says the light isin. Whoo-hoo!
Following week...65 more miles, well 130 both ways, we go back...no light in stock, we will have to order it per the parts guy. Bug-Bunny Thermometer again! He did seem more responsive to our needs and frustration but we shall see. He will be calling when it comes in.
I do love the car however...but dealers suck.[:@]
