Default New car.

I currently own a 98 Avenger that just went over the 240K mile mark and it keeps right on running like a champ. So I was thinking the new Avenger would be my choice to replace my current Avenger when the time comes. But then I started to read peoples comments about the new Avenger having a host of tranny problems and crappy gas milage. I also think the Avenger needs a facelift before I would buy one [the front and rear bumpers and the quarter panel area look a little busy to me, too many lines, a little smoothing out would help] So, IS the new Avenger worth it? It sounds like you guys are having the same problems with your Avengers that I had with my 97 Stratus. I is too bad that Chrysler seems to have the same problems 10 years down the road. You would think by now they could get it right! The only other car I am considering is the Charger but I want at least 32 MPG highway [my wifes V6 Mustang gets 31 highway for petes sake] I want to hear some of the good stories about the new Avenger so I can make up my mind if I go with a new car or find a good used Stratus or something.

As much as I have had issues, I have also had enjoyment.

Nothing beats the look on a cocky modded Civic driver's face as his engine is whining to keep up, and you have only shifted to 4th gear.

This car is quite the sleeper, yet it is also very practical. The roomyness and the height of it is quite nice. My friends mother has hip problems, and cannot get into vehicles easily. She said my car was the easiest to get into... I can fit 4 friends into the car with room to spare, all of their stuff in the trunk and hit the road...

Want to get into that lane from a light and you see the guy beside you is a ***** in a "quick car," a tap of the shifter into the AutoStick, and its power shifting time - most drivers have a hard time keeping up.

So overall - am I happy with the car. Yes. But dont get anything shy of an RT *grin* You want that power! This is a heavy car, well for me - I went from a 2004 Swift+ :P

Satisfaction with efficiency/economy 6/10

That is how I would rate my experience.

If could do it all over I would not buy the Avenger again. I love the look and hate everything else. I can't wait until it's paid off so I can buy something else. In all honesty all the problems I have had made me hate this car. I am going to buy an Audi next time around and take it in every 10,000 miles for service.
