that the Avenger is capable of pulling a 5x10 trailer with a six hundred pound bike on it ?

Heres the scoop. The Mega cab is just getting to much to handle with the gas thing going on.

But, On occasion, I will need to tow my motorcycle. I usually put it on a 5x10 utility trailer.

the hitch weight couldnt be more then 300 lbs; and Im exagerating ... The bike only weighs about 700 lpbs max and I doubt the trailer weighs 2000 lbs. Usual hitch weight is 10-15 percent of the Gross trailer weight.

I would only be towing the bike to and from the shop.

Whatcha think ?

Take the trailer down to a truck weighing station. if you do not have a stand on the trailer for it to be unhitched and loaded, weigh the bike and the trailer sep. Combine the values and take a gander at dodge.com and see what the towing weight capacity of the model you have is. Eliminates all guess work.

Yeah ....

I tow a travel trailer that is also on the chopping block.

The question is / was more related to what the car could do. I couldnt find the Avenger in the dodge towing section but I may be able to find it in the trailer life 2008 towing guide.

BUT ... actually I dont need to look there. The brochure gives the description and says a class I hitch and 1500 lbs. which should be in the limits of what I have.

I would think it could handle something like that with no problem. I had an old Stratus with a hitch on it to pull a small trailer with a 4 wheeler on it and it did fine. I would think it could at least do 1200 lbs. or so.

Yes. I think so too.

The travel trailer weights 650 dry and the bike is 654 lbs ... 3RD to last page of the brochure says " class I hitchReceiver wtih a towing capacity of up to 1,500 pounds" .... so Im under the wire but I think Ill go with a class II just to be sure.

Im looking at a red R/T also ... any complains Markio

If you can get your hands on the AWD, I would recommend that first.

I drive a red R/T AWD, I love what it can do - now I just cant wait for the fun mods to flow into the market.
