I see the postings for resolution for the 2008 Avenger stuck in park with the faulty plastic housing and spring assembly, is this the same issue for the 2009? I am in the same situation but unsure if it is as simple as this spring assembly or possibly a park solenoid.

 

yea pull the chrome ring off the shifter then pull the grey plate up and look on the right hand side of shifter .you will see a pink latch mess with it and ya got clip it up with gatorclip never had another problem with it bein stuck in gear.
