pretty sure if CEL is on you have a code somewhere.. run to autozone/oreillys.advanced..etc have them scan it if you dont have a scan tool.

Default dealership didn't help anything

just got back from the dealership with my 08 avenger. my MIL was calling code P0420 catalyst efficency bank 1 stored. they had a hard time believing that was the problem since it was running fine when i brought it in. they did put it up on the hoist and did a visual inspection on the exhaust and the wiring they didn't find anything wrong. the only thing i got from them was bring it in when its running rought. i said my car probably wouldn't make it. they said they would need more time with my car but for 32.80 cents for 45 minutes and nothing done. i wish i could get a better answer for my car. i bought it brand new at the same dealership and i have had all my maint. done by that dealership. they did call star online, some help thing. and the tech said engine harness replacemnet corrected the condition causing cel. wow.

Default Stalling, hesitating.

My 2.7 has been stalling at stops. The garage that had been taking care of our oil changes for warranty said it was the air filter and changed it... no more stalling!
Next time it was stalling at stop signs, I changed the filter again and voila!
Now the ongoing issue I have is with the 1-2 shift. It feels like the torque managment control is (sometimes) going overboard and the engine almost stalls and then gives a hard shift. It does it with hard acceleration or light, it doesn't seem to matter.
Sometimes it happens while passing a car. I talked to the dealer about this while it was still on warranty, but there were other issues and I never got an answer on this one. I'm thinking if I put a performance chip in it, maybe that will improve the shifting.

Same thing happening to my sons car. Changed the alternator, then the battery and it is still stalling. No CEL at all either. I will post if I find a solution.

Fuel pump maybe. It burnt up the wire harness too. It stalled and stalled. The dealer couldn't figure it out. The third time finally when it totally wouldn't start they found out. Even when they did the codes all they got was a code for the tpmn. I'm telling beware of that computer. I believe even the new one I got is screwing things up STILL. It had cause my alternator to smoke and not shut off. Nice.
