Hi all, I'm looking to buy a remote start for my 2.4L 4cyl Avenger. What all do I need to have the remote start installed? I want to buy everything off of amazon or someplace and then take it to a professional shop to get it installed. Thanks!

Generally, when installing remote starters vehicles need to be equipped with remote locks. You might want to look at purchasing a Mopar remote starter as the brand is made specifically for Dodge products and the kit will have all the parts you need. Reviewing with a Dodge parts department will also help confirm the part compatibility with your vehicle.

I highly recommend you to call your dealer go with a Mopar remote start if you do NOT want any unexpected weird electrical problems in the future. It also comes with 2 extra Keys for you car.

It might cost a little more now, but will save you money and head aches in the future. Ask your mechanics how often they fixed cars with problem related to aftermarket remote starts.
