This is the 2nd time in 3 years that I've had this issue. The first time I opened the driver door and then it wouldn't close. At all. It was stuck wide open. I called Dodge and they hadn't heard of any previous issues. I had to have the entire door replaced and the driver window never worked right despite numerous trips back to Dodge to get it fixed.

This afternoon I was heading out, I walked to my car and tried to open the door. This time it's stuck closed! The hinge area of the door looks like it's out of whack.

I have never heard of anyone ever having this problem and now I've had it TWICE!

Anyone have any idea WHY this is happening? I used the car yesterday and the door was working fine.

 

Can you open it from the inside? If so I would use a good penetrating oil in the latch assembly and work it in. Don't be afraid of oversoaking it. you can use a screw driver blade to close the latch and then reopen using the door handle. Do this multiple times to work the oil in and the lubricate with a silicon grease spray.
