Angry I need help!!!

I'm a single mom, trying not to get taken for a ride n my 2008 Dodge Avenger... this morning I got in the car, it started rough.. the check engine light came on and the fuel gauge stopped working along with the fuel light staying on AFTER i put gas in it. everything else works fine. Any help would be appreciated please!!!

Welcome to DF. Moving to the correct section. First thing you need to do is have the code scanned. Report back what the code is. If you don't have a scanner, any auto parts store will read the code for you.

I really don't understand?

Fuel Gauge STOPPED working but, the Fuel Light Stayed on AFTER you put Gasoline in the Tank?

Either it works or it doesn't?

Did you have Gasoline or was it on "E" (Empty) when you started it?
