2008 - Current Dodge Avenger The new Dodge Avenger gives a sporty look to the often drab mid-sized sedan class, with the possible future option of AWD and a performance engine upgrade.

Default Is the 2012-2013 year any good?

I was told by my dads friend the Avenger is not a good car. It breaks down and it has many issues. I really love the car it pops at you and I have drove a few and the handling is great, I think the Avenger is a mini charger in my view. I would just like some others help. I was looking at the 2012-2013 Avergers if you were wondering. And i am open to any other suggestions to cars. Thanks for your help

I have a 13 R/T and really like it we have put about 20k on it since we have owned it and the only thing it has gotten is oil changes and a tire rotation. The only gripes I have are the brake pads are about the dustiest I have ever seen, it tends to follow cracks in the road mind you they have to be fairly big ones, the rear brakes make noise when backing up usually only first thing in the morning, I have some type of rattle in the headliner. I just located it this morning so I haven't had a chance to really figure out what it's issue is. Also don't judge the traction based on the GoodYear LS2s that are the OEM. I haven't changed them yet but I'm sure they are the traction culprit.

The 3.6 can be a handful you have to respect it. The first time I really opened it up it almost ripped the steering wheel out of my hands when it shifted 1-2. massive amounts of torque steer when under hard throttle.

We now have close to 60k on it and it starts and drives really nice other than the things mentioned.

Default 2012 Dodge Avenger SE 2.4l 4cyl

I love my 2012 Avenger. I put about 13,000 miles on it since October and it's been great to me. Changes the oil every 3,000 and have yet to have any problems. Car could handle a little better but, don't speed around corners. Since I have a baby 4cyl, the car isn't a track car. But it's a real head turner and its a beautiful car. The only think I do not like is the fact that to get to the battery, I have to take of my tire, rotor, and inner fender. With that being said, you do not need to do that to jump it. Thankfully I have never had to do that though. Personally, I would give it a 9.3/10. It's a terrific car. I just wish it handled a little better, and my gas mileage isn't the greatest where I average about 26. But trust me, it's worth it. I never leave my car without turning around and looking at it! Hope it helps!
