Default 2011 Dodge avenger trunk wont open

The key FOB and dash button will not open the trunk, I have to use the emergency handle inside the trunk to open it. Any suggestions on what it could be or how to fix it. Thanks

reckless42,

I'm sorry to hear about your trunk lock concern.

Did the issue start intermittently, or stop working suddenly? Are there any fault codes present?

It is possible an issue lies with the Decklid Release Switch, however, a diagnosis would reveal the root cause.

It started to do it here and there, but now it will not open. The rear lights will blink when I push the FOB button.

I checked the fuses I did not see any blown fuses. I'm not sure exactly which fuse it would be, or if there is another fuse box besides the one under the hood.

Follow the wiring from the release latch and see if it's pinched or rubbed anywhere

I looked at the wiring to see if it was pinched, it looked free of any wear or damage.
