I have a 2010 Avenger and lately, I have noticed a humming noise that sounds like it's coming from the engine. I hear it all the time, even when it's idling. It seems like it's a little louder when I'm accelerating but it's always with me. My husband thought maybe it was a belt, so he sprayed belt cleaner on it and that made a terrible squeaking noise that has since disappeared but the humming is still there and seems worse than when it first started. Anyone have any clue what this could be and is it an expensive fix?

 

Got to isolate where the noise is coming from yourself. We can only guess. May be be a pulley, may be a vacuum leak.....
