Hi everyone,
I was looking around at the Avenger mileage and found a big discrepancy.
In Canada the mileage for the 2.4 aslisted on the sticker as 29 city and 43 highway.(Cdn mpg) but in the US, it is reported as 21/30 (US mpg).
I did some conversion and either the US is way too low or the Canadian is way to high butconverted:
30 mpg us gallon = 36 mpg, cdn not 43 as advertised on the sticker price.
To remain fair and to double check these finding to make sure that maybe the difference is not due to the way each country evaluate mileage, I checked a different car. I compared the Chevrolet Cobalt LT 2.2.
In the US,25 city and 34 hwy mpg and inCanada, 29 city and 43 hwy. Afterthe conversion from US to Imperial gallons, this one is bang on and the mileage is the same.
Personnaly, I dont believe for a minute that any dodge/mitsu engine 2.4 can do 43 cdn mpg on the highway, however 36 cdn mpg is more realistic.
So what's up with Dodge, are theytrying to put a fast one over the Canadian public or the mileage reported in the US too low ??. Any comments.
