Cool Man vs metal

Finally got the rivets off the control arms of my Dakota. Man, those things are really on there. I had to shave the head down then punch them out. sounds easy right? Yeah, I had to drill through the rivets also, took me a day and a half to get em off. Now I gotta press the bushings. Old ones out, new ones in. I looked around and ppl want 25$ per bushing!! I did 4 of em( uppers) piece of cake with the right tools. Only we couldn't find the sleeve to guide the lowers so I was gonna get them pressed at a shop. Do I look like a idiot!?! 100$ for practically 20 minutes of work? That's why I got into this type of stuff, so I don't have to spend ridiculous amounts of hard earned cash on stuff you can do yourself. I could imagine the cost of my whole project if I were to have a mechanic do it. Might as well rob me blind. To those who are intimidated by working on your car. Dont be, just study, study, study. Read all you can on whatever component you are gonna tackle. Anyhow... I did it, and it feels great to not rely on someone else to fix my ride.

I like to see people tackling the "unknown" on their vehicles. It saves you money, assuming you did your homework it's done right and you can be proud of it. I encourage all my friends and family to do their own work. As well as upgrading everything possible, hehehe. I always offer my assistance when if I know how to fix it or not.

Bravo!
