Default I am new, suggestions for starting my project

Heyo,
So I am new to this forum specifically I have been on forums before. I just got my 2001 Dakota SLT with a 4.7L, automatic, 4x4, it already has a really nice stereo in it. I have an idea for mods already with chipping it, dual rear exhausts, maybe a cai but at least a new intake filter, electric fan, and I'd like to get some solid A/T or more off-road orientated tires.

Seeing as I am new to this truck, I'd like to hear yall's suggestions on what works and doesn't.

Throttle body spacers thats about the only thing that doesnt work. Intake, exhaust, tuner, throttle body, sonax line booster. All good places to start. Window tint, new headlights and tails, wheels and tires, hid's,thats about it till you get into motor work.

I am doing motor work more than exterior work. Do you have any brand suggestions. I am going with a Gibson exhaust right now cause it is the only one with a split rear exit. And superchip flashpaq cause that seems to be the most liked chip. But any suggestions on throttle bodies and I don't know what a sonax line booster is?

I ran sct tuner and a bunch of people have on here. I liked it. Fastman throttle bodies are good. You can get yours modified but its easier to get a fastman. The line booster is for the tranny it helps firm up shifts.

Thanks,

Also new question leveling kits. I need one for my dakota, or is there something else we can do that just jacks up the front end. I looked around and can't find a leveling kit for it. I kinda need it, so any help is appreciated.

I've heard about torsion bars and cranking them up. This is the first truck I've had so any help on what exactly these are and how to crank them up would be appreciated.

To level a dakota all you need to do is crank the torsion bars. They are under the truck inside the frame rails and about below the front seats. Get both the front wheels off the ground and get some pb blaster(to help with rust) soak the the bolts to loosen them up. Get a good ratchet and start tightening them up. I think I did about 10 full turns of the bolt. Set the truck back down bounce the truck a few times then measure the distance from tires to fender. I think I gained about 2in when I did mine. Big difference plus I added 32's at the time so it needed to be done anyway.

Just did that today, I only did 4 full turns and I got almost a perfect inch on both sides. This great though. Take it from street to off-road when ever I want. Also my project has started so I will make a new thread posting the upgrades and photos when applicable! Let the fun begin!
