Default New-to-me dakota...exhuast tips and type?

HI guys,

Im sure its been covered 1 million times but I just purchased a '03 dakota with the 5.9. I was wondering what everyones opinion is on exhaust..mufflers, tips, etc.

I'd like to see some pics if possible. I'm considering just adding a new muffler and keeping the original pipe or maybe adding a 1 in 2 out but having the pipes turn down past the rear axle so nothing shows...giving a "clean" look..any opinions?

Thanks

Gibson is inexpensive and gives you lower notes and an audible rumble in the lower rpms, but aren't too loud that you will **** off neighbors if you live in the suburbs or close to someone. And when your cruising it won't annoy you either.

That's all I can really give for advice on exhausts

Sometimes, if you have turn-downs instead of tailpipes, it can cause annoying resonance inside the vehicle. Going behind the rear axle, you'll probably be ok. And you can always add the tailpipes if it's a problem.

As for replacing the whole system or just the muffler, it depends on what you want. replacing the system from the cat back can give a small performance increase. If you just care about the sound, replace only the muffler.

Thanks guys..I went with a flowmaster 40 series and turned down the pipes after the rear axle..so you can't really see them and there is no drone noise in the cab. I love the sound and look.
