Looking for anyone that installed or had installed headers on their 5.2 Dakota.
Likes , dislike , tips/advice , would you buy the same again ?
Also what did y'all do for collector and pipes out ? size of pipe ?

Kind of forced into getting my set of headers since my manifold gasket blew out a while back. I cannot pass inspection so... i bought a set of JBA ceramic shorties. Having a piping place weld me in a ss y-pipe , single 3" exhaust with Magnaflow parts.
Tried searching some about starters , even original oem for their longevity but didn't find much info. So i also ordered a Mopar light or mini starter figuring now would be a good time to replace.
I think i may have to force me way into doing some top end work on the motor by removing a few parts to a point of return...

 

Had to go back to the installer to replace the manifold gaskets (no charge) that came with the Headers,
although the JBA are quality pipes, the supplied gaskets do not get good reviews. SO ,
Get Remflex gaskets for the first time around !

 

Honestly, you're wasting your time buying headers for a 5.2 magnum. Unless your lucky enough to find the full set of Mopar performance pipes. Any shorty header will flow basically at the same rate ss factory manifolds.

If anything, get manifolds and a y pipe off of a 92 or 93 5.2 as they were slightly larger and flow better then headers.

 

yea, get some old rusty pipes off a 23 year old truck... you will have to show proof of flow charts before i believe a single 2 1/2" pipe will outflow a 3" .
EQ heads will be coming soon, i just had to replace my exhaust first.
