Default 1998 Dakota Headlight Switch Green & Red w green wires getting really hot to the touc

Hello, hopefully someone else has ran into this problem and can help me track it down.
I have a 1998 Dakota that after about 25 to 30 minuets of on time
the headlights start flashing like a short in something.
With it mounted to the dash I was able to touch the side of the headlight switch and it would quit blinking.
I replaced the switch & it is still doing the same thing so I left the switch dangling from the wires, that's when I found out that the big green & red with green tracer wires on the switch plugin were getting really hot!
Please Help !!!

Wrong forum, but if it's like our Rams, it's time to replace the light switch.
