ok i took off the belt and tried to spin both pullys and the idler pully only spins like 1/4 turn and stops but makes no noise and the tensioner pully same thing, spins 1/4 turn and stops, then i tried spinning both as fast as i can to keep them going and no noise still from either.... now the belt came off real easyt and went ack on easy... if im not mistaking dont they go on kinda tuff, so im thinking belt is streched out to much, now for a final thought when i moves the tesioner it didnt spring back it went at its own pace slowly, so is it possible its not putting enough presure on the belt either??? any thoughts??? eith way i got to get a new belt cause theirs some cracks in it and its getting close to inspection time

is it possible that the idler pully could get glazed over and cause the belt to slip, could you take sand paper to it alittle fine grit to slightly rough it up or you think that would chew the belt up???

you can take some fine sand paper and scuff it up abit. and for your tensioner being a bit stiff, just lube it up good and move it back and forth, then it should spring back good after that.

ok this weekend changed the belt with dayco gatorback type belt and still get the chirping. now the chirping only happens when im at a slow speed ....doesnt do it when idleing or when the rpms are above 1500 when moving...only at an idle moving...now both the tensioner and the idler pully soin 1/4 turn and stops and when i try to spin them both continiously neither make a single noise... so which one would you change first??? the cheaper one??? the idler is only like 20-28 and the tensioner runs from 48-68

The best way to check all your pulley's is take off your belt and just spin them by hand. If they grind or rattle then you need a new one. They are extreamly easy to replace.
