Default Window handle removal?

I guess I'm too old school, To remove a window wind handle I just pushed in the door panel at the handle and either pulled the split ring or loosened the allen screw to remove the wind handle. My sons 01 Dakota looks like the handle is glued to the wind post, or ain't I lookingclose enough. If you've ever pulled one of these off please let me know the secret.

i would think its like my 01 ram. your talking about a manual window crank handle right ?
use either a pick hook or a stiff piece of wire with a very short (1/8 in) 90 degree bend on the end. push in on the door panel, and move the foam spacer back and forth to expose a clip holding the crank on the shaft. catch the clip with the pick and give it a yank. it will come flying off and go lord knows where, so don't do it out in the grass and dirt.

if you are going to remove the door panel, a $10 panel removal tool is worth $100.
