Default Headlight Problems...with the tilt wheel

Hey guys, got a question. My headlights don't work unless the tilt wheel is in the most up position. The brights work but not just my regular headlights. Its getting kind of annoying having to put the wheel up at night. I did a search a while back and a guy had the same problem then fixed it, buit now I can't find that post so please help!

Thanks,
Sage

When i first got my truck, my low beams didn't work at all but my brights worked. And it was just wires that got pulled out from the person before me using the tilt wheel a lot. So that sounds like the problem with yours. And it was pretty cheap and easy to fix.

hey had the same problem with mine, its a purple wire that came unpluged in the wireing harness on the left sside next to the turn signal lever. take the cover off behind the steering wheel ( 3 bolts underneath) the you will need special torex bits that are hollow in the center. you can get them at any auto store. take off the turn signal lever and on the backside of that youll see a bigger torex like thoise 2 bolts that holds the wireing harness to the turnsignal lever. after that bolt is out take off the cover tot he harness and you will see the purple wire that needs reconected. oh ya and dont forget to to disconnect the negitive part of teh battery due to messing with the airbag sensors......and wait 5 min after disconnecting battery cause the airbag sensors hold a backup charge that they can still go off...the book will tell you all this though. well good luck on getting it fixed like i did. its rather easy
