Default What a day...

So I was driving home from my friends baseball game today, and out of know where I get this pinging sound, then loud knocking sounds, then sounds of stuff breaking, and then my engine shuts off. I coast into a parking lot pop the hood and begin to look around. I couldnt see anything but I heard this sound as if oil or coolant, or both, was leaking...so I crawl underneath to find that my engine block CRACKED in 2 places, and the oil pan completely bent out away from the block.

All this after I just ordered pulleys and a cam...

ps- I believe I threw a rod, but I have no idea about interals, this was just what I was told.

pss- my truck is still under warranty so hopefully this will be covered.

Still under warranty? 10 year 100k extended?

And yeah, sounds like a rod. Your motor is a paperweight now. Bad news about the warranty is that they probably won't go for dropping a 426 stroker in.

it was a 2 yr or24,500 milewarranty when I bought it, now theres about 11 months or 9,000 miles left on it. Yeah I know I'm going to see if the guy who is going to work on it would throw in the cam and pulleys that I just bought for alittle on the side...it would be alot easier for him to do itthen me in my drive way trying to do it with the engine in the truck. Probably wont happen though most places dont do that kind of stuff.

Nope, no warning at all, but yeah, hopefully everything will be covered under the warranty. Its just going to be awhile before I drive it again [:@]
