Default front end

ok so i have a shake in the front end of my 2000 dakota 3.9 regular cab i thought it was the rotors warped, well i took the drivers side front wheel off yesterday and grabbed ahold of the rotor to see if the ball joints were goin out, nope it is the out tie rod end. would this cause the shake in front end during braking? i know when i hit expantion joints in the highway the stering wheel gets loose. i already have the rotors and pads and plan to put them on as well as new tie rod ends but i was just curious

i would beleive so, that tie rod keeps the knuckle assembly stable, which your tire rides on
