Default Tranmission slamming

I have a 02 Dakotas and I have been having a problem with my transmisson. I can be sitting at a light for a little while and the transmission will slam. I have looked behind me to see if someone hit me. I take it to the dealer and they say that it is normal and that nothing is wrong. I have been doing this every year that I have had it. The dealer keeps telling me that all of the trucks does this. They clear the computer and say it is fine. Does this happen to everyone? Is it normal? Is the truck just adjusting itself to me? Or is the dealer full of you know what?

ya, I would take it to a tranny shop and get their opinion. tranny problems are hard to diagnose.

i dont know why but it sounds like the clutch packs inside the tranny are losng pressure then regaining it, electrical or faulty pump possibly

Thanks for the answers. I thought that there is something really wrong. I am going to find someone else to check it out.
