I just got a 1999 Dodge Dakota Sport. Its 4x2, single cab and canopy. How many LBS can I tow with it? I haven't gotten the tow package put on yet, does anybody know how much that would cost and what shops do it? I live in washington state. I'm interested in towing 1 or 2 jet skii's. But I can't seem to find an answer as to how much jet skii's weigh. Thanks!

 

Probably somewhere just over 4000 pounds. I dont know for sure. But you'll have plenty of towing capacity for a couple of jet skis. Two of them on a trailer is probably half of your capacity. Thats with the tow package though.

 

U can buy a bolt hitch at just about any autoparts store for around $110

You could probably get away with bumper mount ball towing with a pair of jet skis, as I don't think they weigh near 1000 each. How much you can tow depends on several things -

1) engine
2) transmission
3) ring and pinion
4) hitch
5) towing provisions - tranny cooler, power steering cooler, etc.
