Default Oil pump / Experience.

I'm a man who doesn't have any of the experience i need. My oil pressure is bad on my 97 3.9 L dak . so i have read a few posts about oil and how it can also be the sending unit. So i got a good filter and a new pump along with some Castrol GTX high milage oil 10w40 because i heard a few people need need atleast 10w30 or higher. okay well i need advice should i install the oil pump by my self because I got a chiltons today and says i need to tighten some bolts to 21 ft. lbs and i don't have any way to test that. well that's my problem thanks again guys!

check it w. a mechanical guage first...

buy a torque wrench a 20 dollar jobber will work for that that would be tight then a quarter turn, you dont want to smash the gasket...
