Fixing an A/C line.
I baught my truck used and i found out that when the guy who owned it before me put the aftermarket headers put on, he didnt make sure any A/C lines were out of the way. So now, the A/C line on the passenger side fender has a hole in it. Is there any way i could fix the hole? The line goes into the firewall and it looks hard to replace. I was thinking JB weld and then heat tape over it. Will that work?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Just replace it. The lines themselves arent that hard to replace. YOu'll need a/c connector tools though (about $20 at a auto parts store) and make sure the systems discharged (have a shop do that) before trying to open up a line.
Theres a hole in the line in teh one that actually goes into the firewall? IF theres a hole in that then you'll need a new evaporator core which requires the removal of the dash to get to.
The lines are aluminum and JB weld isnt exactly what I would do on an AC line. Either just drive without AC or fix it. Try to get a picture of teh area for us. Not sure of what year you got.
