just dreaming outloud
just dreaming outloud here it will be 2 years before i could ever start thisprojectbut what do you guys think would it be easier to convert a R/T dakota with the 5.9 to a 5 speed manual or to drop a 5.9 in a manual dakota and slap some R/T stickers on it? sence they never made a manual R/T
hmm, good question, since i own a R/T i would just convert to the viper 6 speed, but if you dont have an R/T then just get a 5.9 and ump it in.. you will also have to add all the parts the r.ts had over the non ones.. like the suspension and engine tune, exhuast, ect... just get a 318 5 speed and bore it out.. 318s are about the same to the 360s.
I think i'll just end up buying a 2wd pickup with a 5 speed and drop the 360 in it. I already know what i need as far as motor mounts wiring harnesess computer crap blah blah blah but will the gauge cluster be compatable with the new motor?
you can always re calb. your gauges, but if you cant.. hell build your own and wire them up, one of the guys on DFWDakotas has a 440bb in a dak he is building from ground up, and he did all the wiring, said it was a bitch.. i have no idea though, im good at installing systems not gauges and wierd *** wires.. lol.
lol my friend cody has an 88 chevy and the brain went out on it so he rigged a wire to a switch and to the fuel pump and you just flip that switch on turn the keyand the truck starts and runs i thought it was kinda funny
