What does th TPS do? And where is it located? On my 90' dakota, the ECU took care of that.

The TPS is the throttle position sensor. It measuresthe angle that the throttle plate is at so that it can help the computer know how much fuel to mix in with the air charge. It is also usedfor cruise control, A/C shut off at WOT, plus a few other things. It is located on the throttle body and usually isattached to one side of the throttle plate shaft.
