Default blinker/radio problem

I have a 2001, quad cab, 4.7 manual and I have been having problems with the radio cutting out, usually when the blinker is turned on. Its an aftermarket alpine radio and I used the metra harnesses, but disonnected the dimmer wires from the loom. Most times when this happens, the radio turns right back on, even if I leave the blinker on, but sometimes both the radio and blinker die. Anyone have any thoughts or ever experienced this problem before? I don't know if this happened with the stock radio becuase it was out of the truck when I got it. Thanks for any help.

Danny

Default RE: blinker/radio problem

Useally that has to do witht the orange wires (dimmers) dimmers come in + and - if you hook it up to the factory orange.. you can get a bad ground and cause a bunch of **** to mess up including all your headlights and dimmer lights in the cab.. its used for when you dimm the guage lights it dimms the radio.. but it useally doesnt work.. When i installed radios at Best Buy we never hooked up the orange wires or any type of dimmer wire..

Also make sure you are using the correct Wire harness. sometimes the harness may fit, but if you look at the wire layout they are backwards or missing..

Who installed the radio? You?
