Default Rusted Welds on Frame

Hello All,

I'm a newbie to this forum. I've had a 2001 Dakota since it's birth and generally work on it myself. I noticed recently that almost all the welds on the frame are rusted, some have even loosened up and come off. Are these welds going tomake my beloved truck fall apart? [8D] Or were these welds put there just to close gaps?

Thanks in advance,
Jimbo

Here are some pics of the rust. You can see it traces right along the welds and right along anywhere the frame comes together.

Thanks again for your replies!

Looks like normal rust to me. I would do an underbody coat though to prevent anymore rust. My truck had this since I bought it and there is NO rust on the under body. The only rust is on the body, too bad they don't have special coats for that.

I didn't see any broken welds.
Sand blast them, prime with zinc chromate primer and paint with rustolem gloss black.
