fan question???

Default fan question???

ok...i have a 2000 4.7 dakota..and i was wondering ifi take the fan off(the big one) if i will notice and gain in mpg, hp, ect. also how much hotter will it run, and is it bad for my truck, and what is the normal operating temperature for my truck? sorry so many ?'s!! thanks!

The fan cools the radiator. I would not remove it your vehicle could over heat quickly.

you'll have to have either a belt driven fan, or an electric fan to draw air through the radiator to cool the motor, or else it will quickly overheat while sitting in traffic. the performance gains of removing the belt driven fan are neglible. but, if you really want to do it, you can get an electric fan kit. do a seach in dak and/or ram section for a lot of posts. its a common mod.

www.moesperformance.com has the flex lite black magic fan for 240.00 its the same fan i am going to purchase. some people in the gen 3 section have done this mod.
