hey guys, ive been look for the pass day or two for a air intake for a 1998 dodge dakota inline 2.5L. I cant seem to find one for it anywhere and i wanted to know if anyone here can help.

You might have to man up and make your own here. Doesn't K&N make a drop-in filter for your application?

 

they definately make a drop in, are you talking about an FIPK?

 

check on www.summitracing.com if not you'll probably have to make your own. it's not that hard. just get a cone shaped air filter and use pvc pipe and route it up by the fender. lots of other people have done it. although i dont know how much good it will do you, that 2.5 probably takes in more air than it could ever use.

 

when ordering or looking for an intake you need to look under amc or jeep. these were the main vech. that they put the 2.5 in. might not be the same set up as the dak. but it will give you an idea if you need to make one

 

go to ebay and type in 1998 jeep intake. they have a bunch of them for this motor. you may need to purchase on of these for the truck. really good prices also

thanks for the help. i figured i'd have to make one, but i found a reactive air intake. my buddy had one for his 91 dakota but it was the wrong application.so hopefully it'll work. i sized it up and it looks like it'll fit. K & N does make a drop in filter but it still uses the stock air box and i wants to remove that all together. Also i think it will make a bit of a difference even tho it is a small engine. the air intake of the 2.5 looks like a maze. so hopefully it turns out for the best. ill post a picture of it when i get it installed. thanks guys
