V6 to 340 swap
Been a long time coming. Truck was put way back on the back burner, but at it again.
Will have new pics soon, added new intake, havin charging problems but hammering them out this week end I hope. I will have a full post on everything I had to do to get this engine installed, and everything working properly.
Reloaded pics hope they show now, more to come.
The timing cover, and water pump swapped from V6 to V8. allowing for original AC, Alt to bolt up. Prob #1 Alt is ran by comp, so have to goto older Alt and have made to a 1wire config for charging, plus find serp belt pully to fit it. Prob #1A make adapter plates for tention pully, Psteering pump to bolt up to older block, DONE! 5 speed tranny easy bolt up, still using V6 clutch ect. Motor mounts, used factory, 2 right hand mounts upside down, and welded the bolting **** that fit older block to them. This raised engine up 1 inch higher, but with single plane high rise intake, was going to have to cut hood anyway, heh, can you say functional scoop in the werks
Pic of truck with hood closed carb is 2 inch from hood brace. Gauges...hummm, OK comp probs again, but no worry full gauges, speedo, tach, fuel, ect, aftermarket $240 found a set, will use original cluster for base pattern, add led lights for high beam, blinker, low fuel ect. Cruise control, again comp controlled, will have to go aftermarket. HMMmm, darn my check engine light is on, must get that checked...lol. Cooling, twin electric fans off a 80s Diplomat fit radiator pretty nicely running off toggle for now, $70 for sensor kit to auto on at 180 deg. Fuel...original fuel pump, with Holly pressure reg $50-$60 range, don't waste cash on $30 little round ones, bought 2, high pressure pump keeps them from working.Again fuel pump on with key, but have a safety toggle to shut it down. LOTS still to do, but she is lean, mean, and runnin like a scalded dog
I added a photo album so pics can be seen better, lol gotta find them now.

Pics didnt show up for me!
But that swap would be awesome. If your good at fabircating they do make kits that come with all different bends and pieces to make yours own headers, if you can't find the right set. But obviously if they made a set that fit it would be a lot easier.
