Default Steering wheel stereo controls not working

Has anyone had this problem before? The only button that works is the right hand center nub which switches the radio from FM to AM, which is the only control I would never use, so the whole this is moot to me. Is the control in the steering wheel or the head unit?

It's done through resistors in the steering wheel. Most of the times it's all done by 1-2 wires. The radio just reads the difference resistances from each button. Kind of a strange problem. Could still be in the radio though.

Is your air bag light coming on? You might have a lose connection running through your steering column.
