are 285/75-r17's to big for a stock dakota?
i've been trying to avoid asking this question. i've done my reading around, i've read different specs on tires, and i've read on the size specs that very between a 265/75-r17 and the 285/75s. i'm not at all worried about the back tires. i'm just currious about the front tires and rubbing. but i just got to ask.
i'm wanting to put 285/75s on my stock 02' club cab. the stock tires are 265/75s.
what do you think?

odds are pretty good they'll rub, but that's nothing a little cutting and/or body lift wont fix. You could allways go with a little smaller tires, that much meat and your little v6 will be working a lot harder than it should be to keep them spinning.

i have 265/60 r18's on mine. 18" american racing "the crush" rims. they have plenty of clerance but the front tires just about touch the well at a full turn which totally put out any kind of drop kit out of question. the brakes work harder but i only notice a problem in heavy traffic for long periods of time. i didn't notice power loss but im sure some was there. 285's would be monsterous imho.
