Default Creaking, grinding noise while turning

It seems like everytime I turn either left or right, there is a loud creaking and grinding noise coming from the wheel wells. I have a 2000 Dakota, 5.9l. I know that the driverside lower ball joint is bad and needs replaced. Could that just be it? Or the bushings. The noise is driving me nuts.
