Default no instrument gauges

I have a 1997 dodge dakota When I put a interior bulb in my gauge cluster and radio, rpm gauge, speedo, fuel, aletenator and pressure gauges all went dead. The fuses wern't blown and there is still power to the fuse box.

was the bulb behind the dash, that you could have not reseated the dash correctly to make contact and thats why everything is dead

The interior bulb that I put in was the Dome light bulb. It was the correct bulb. I did not do anything to the dash

eletrical gremlins... those are bastards when one thing triggers a problem but has no probabally way to cause that.. sounds like installing the new blulb shorted the system... check your fuses one more time and make sure the contact are clean, have sandpaper and just a few swipes over the contacts of each fuse will help.. and give the keydance trick a ****.. i keep forgetting if it will work with ur year but put the key in the ignition and turn it on, off, on, off, then leave it in the on position, but DONT start the truck, and see if a code comes up... another trick i learned is before turning the ignition on, hold down the trip reset switch on the cluster, then turn the key on and wait 5 seconds and then the cluster will test itself for faults.. give that a shot

so if you do that key thing the car might throw out a code at you? could that also work if you have the check engine light on?

yeah the key dance is used to find what code is triggering the check engine light... the code will be PXXXX... #'s in place of the x's
