Default Custom CAI and Exaust

I'm looking at putting a CAI in my truck but I come to the realization that all the kits I see put the tube over the engine.
So custom it is, I'm thinking running the tube from the TB, put a 90°bend down, run it down the block, then turn it toward the front, mounting a cone filter next to the radiator,
But I don't know what I should use for the intake tube, that won't cost an arm and a leg, and is faily easy to work with

and for the exaust, start at the manifold, go straight back (instead of turning to the pass, side) mounting the cat and muffler next to each other with a down tube before the axle
Should i go with 2.5" exaust or is that too big for my 2.5L?

that sounds like a good plan with the CAI..., make sure you mouynt it in critical locations so it doesnt break from bounching around after awhile... with the exhaust, id ask some of the jeep guys running the 2.5's... see what they say
