180 thermostat

Default 180 thermostat

i want to put a 180 thermostat in my 4.7l and i was wondering what would it do for me besides run my engine cooler?

it will let it run cooler and give you abit more power.

Ya you will get a little bit more power and the cooler you run you engine and transmission the longer life you will get. The only thing you might notice is in the winter your heater wont be as hot, but it will still be hot enough. just 10 deg. or so lower. Not to bad I say.

where is the thermostat exactly. from the way i look at it its under the alternator.

The thermo on the 4.7 is at the front/bottom of the motor, on the passenger side.
