Many questions
I'm looking at a 99 dakota sport regular cab 5 speed with a 3.55 rear end. It was originally a 6 cylinder but the PO installed a 5.9 out of a 2001 durango retaining all of the stock fuel injection from the durango. It has a heavy duty clutch, headers, 3 inch exhaust with a flowmaster. The truck has 74000 miles on it and the motor was installed at 15,000. Great paint, no rust, everything works. Ok, here are all of my questions.
What's it worth?
Ratio's of each gear of the stock 5 speed from a 6 cylinder sport?
Longevity of the 5.9? How about the 5 speed behind the 5.9?
What would the final ratio be a cruising? Is this in the power band? MPG?
Stats on the engine? Where does it make it's power? Is this a good setup with the 5.9, 5 speed, and the 3.55 rear?
How comfortable would the regular cab be for me at 6'2'?
Any forseeable problems with this combo/year?
Thanks

your a little big for a reg cab, but get in and see how you like it. as for the tranny i believe they are the same as the 6-5.2-5.9 go to www.allpar.com and look up the writes for each motor and tranny. as for the motor they are a beast with great power, and being in such a little truck it must fly.you wont be in the power band at cruising with the 3.55 i had them and was getting 22/23 on the highway and 18/19 around town. also check the frt suspension. if it still has the 6 cyl. springs and shocks, they need to be swapped out for the heavier motor.
$3k doesn't sound too bad, however, you will want to make sure that the new motor has been written in on the trucks title. Take the VIN down to the DMV and see what they have to say about the vehicle.
