I've installed one a carburated motor, but I laugh at anyone that puts one on a EFI vehicle :P
especially one with MPI, now, on TBI it might make a difference, but not on these dodges

Throttle Body Spacers (Primarily the "Helix" style):
These spacers do not provide any gains in HP at all. They claim to increase TQ and MPG but we tested one and it gained nothing. The Dyno showed no gains in HP or TQ. We also had contacted one of the manufacturers for their comments on them and here's the direct quote (from email):

So...it doesn't make any more HP, is not supposed to help in 1/4 mile performance (or on the Dyno), and is mainly for mileage and bottom end Torque. Well, Dyno's show TQ figures and there were no changes, mileage stayed the same, and 1/4 mile performance wasn't affected on the several others who have tried it (including us). They also are still not able to explain how the spacer keeps the swirl effect through the two turns (90 degree and 45 degree) in the intake plenum of the Dodge Ram/Dakota/Durango manifolds.
While the Throttle Body Spacer showed no gains on the 3.9/5.2/5.9L Magnum engines, the 4.7L engines have been reported to show noticeable gains from the spacer. Why? It's a much more efficient intake system with less restrictions than the Magnum engines. It may work just fine for the 4.7L crowd but we'll look into this at a later date for Dyno and long term MPG testing.

and it says that they have shown slight gains on a 4.7 which is a FUEL INJECTED MOTOR... virused. All it does is swirl air, and if the intake is effecient enough like on a 4.7, the swirled can actually make it into the intake valves

Thats really just kinda saying, we heard through the grapevine that it helps, but have no data to back it up. Also look at the points from the e-mail they got in response from airiad......they basically say it does nothing and doesnt really specifiy 5.9/4.7 or any other make of motor.

It makes sense on carborated engines, as this increases the time for the air and fuel to mix. However, on the magnum, it's just added distance for the air to travel. The injectors are actually right before the cylinders themselves, so the only thing you can really do for a gain from the manifold on out is increase airflow and reduce air temperature.
The throttle body spacer does neither of these.

we seriously need a note up top about these things, TB spacer = block of steel with a 3 inch hole in the middle and 4 mounting holes... yeah, fantastic ingenuity applied to that [:@]

If it DOES swirl the intake charge, what happens when that air needs to break off into each of the 8 runners? Does the air magically divide down the8 runners and somehow keep it's "swirl" effect in each one?
