i got a blown 3.9 99 dakota 5 speed 2 wheel drive, ive been trying for awhile now to find a engine to swap in it and i finnaly found a 01 dakota identical to mine with less then 100k miles and for $700, i was wondering if anyone could tell me if that would bolt up right with my tranny and all the eletrical would match up right any help would be appreciated...

 

Should work, the 01 manual covers from 97-01. Worst thing I think is you have to do a wire job. But Since you have the whole truck just swap the intrusment cluster(Probably all you might have to do) But id wait and see if anyone else knows as Im not 100%

 

welcome to DF... should work no problem. All the 3.9 mag v6'sshould work if you strip them down to the block & heads and swap everything else over from your original motor

the only thing you may have a problem with is the balancing of the motor if the new motor was an auto... investigate that before dropping it in...
