gas tank

how much work is it to remove the gas tank in my truck. is it an all day event, or just a couple of hours?

I have a gen 1 but I would guess its simalar. Its not too bad. There is two straps that hold in up. If the tank is as close to empty that you can get is best.Just unplug the wires and disconnect the fuel fill hose and drop down. It would only take a couple of hours. Another way is a little harder but if you have a full tank and the pump is dead you can remove the bed. There is only 6 bolts holding the bed down. Its easy to lift the bed just get two guys or so and lift.

I can get anything out in a couple hours.....might not fit right going back in....but it'll come out

do it when the tank is empty or else you will need to siphon out the fuel first. disconnect the fuel system and the filler hose, unbolt the two straps and lower her down.
