Removing 3.9 crankshaft

I was wondering if there was a way to remove the crankshaft in a 99 dakota 3.9L without removing the engine completely from the truck. If there was, how do i go about doing so?

shotgun rebuild... um when it comes to crankshaft work, just pull the engine out, your never going to sit that crank in tehre properly with the engine still in the truck
