Default Universal Joints

Has anyone changed/ rebuilt a universal joint on their trucks?
I have been hearing a noise under my truck for a while now and have been trying to track it down every chance I got which isn't very often.
I have even changed out the transfer case fluid thinking maybe I had the incorect fluid or maybe it was low.
So today I had a few min so I threw the truck on to the ramps and crawed under and started checking everything I could see.
I finally grabbed the front driveshaft and started to try to move it like I had the rear when the thing moved all over the place. I took the truck off of the ramps and just jacked up the front right side and spun the tire and could hear the joint pop as it would turn.
I have located the replacement parts and was just wondering if anyone had any tips or anything I should I watch out for.
Oh yea the truck is a 00 Dakota club cab 4x4

it took me about 10 minutes to do mine. I just took the drive shaft out and then put it in a vise to get the old u joints out and then put the new ones it. its pretty easy.

There easy to do. The only hard thing is getting the joints in and out. Its a press fit. You could use a hammer if you have to.I have a hydrolic press so it was easy for me. But you could take it to most automotive machine shops and have them press it in and out if you cant do it. NAPA does it for 5 dollers. Make sure you get the best joint you can. I bought a cheepy one and it broke apart on me on the freeway. I saw the drive shaft fly out at 75mph. Its not fun. Thank god its 4wd I drove home on the front axle. So I bought the best one I can 15 dollers more than the cheepy. Its worth it.
